Top 10 Songs With Body-Part References (Part 1)

So time for another Top 10; today a strange, obscure and fun one: Songs that reference body-parts. I have excluded the use of ‘eyes’, ‘heart’, ‘hands’ and ‘feet’ as too obvious. So sadly, The Pogues  – ‘A Pair Of Brown Eyes’, Fergal Sharkey – ‘A Good Heart’, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds – ‘Red Right Hand’, The Smiths – Hand In Glove’, XTC – ‘Ten Feet Tall’ don’t qualify. I’ve also allowed a  particular body-part to appear only once…I’ve been very picky this time round. Even so, it’s a two-part Top 10 (so really a Top 20 I guess!)…

Top 10 Songs With Body-Part References (Part 1)

10. Chuck Berry – My Ding-A-Ling
09. James Weldon Johnson – Dem Bones
08. Snakefinger – Smelly Tongues
07. Hugo Largo – Second Skin
06. Jake Bugg – Two Fingers
05. Radiohead – My Iron Lung
04. Arctic Monkeys – Knee Socks
03. Civil Wars – Devil’s Backbone
02. Brighton Port Authority ft David Byrne & Dizzee Rascal – Toe Jam (video contains adult content)

And my favourite obscure referenced body-part song is…

01. Cornershop – Brimful of Asha (Norman Cook mix)
For the classic refrain “everyone needs a bosom for a pillow”
